Less than two weeks before Clinton appears on The Late Show, her Democratic primary opponent was a guest, with Stephen Colbert seeking advice about what he should ask her. “We need her help to go forward,” responded Sanders on Thursday’s episode. “Let’s not keep arguing about 2016. Let’s get together, take on Trump’s desire to divide us up. Let’s go forward with a progressive agenda. Ask her if she’ll do that.” In Clinton’s new memoir, What Happened, she puts some blame for her loss to Trump in the presidential election on Sanders, a move she was recently ripped for by Seth Meyers.
