Trump has been highly critical of China in the past, having previously tweeted, “North Korea is behaving very badly. They have been ‘playing’ the United States for years. China has done little to help!” After a 10-minute conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping about the history of the two countries, the president said the current situation is “not so easy.” This left Cooper stammering for the proper response. “I really am speechless. I don’t know why I’m reacting like this,” he said. “Yes, of course, it’s exactly what he said about health care that nobody knew it could be so complicated, but you know what, actually a lot of people did in fact, pretty much everybody knew it was really, really complicated.” Cooper’s segment delved into the escalating crisis with North Korea over concerns of weapons tests. He apologized again later in the conversation for his loss of words for Trump. “Sorry, I don’t know why I’m reacting like this,” he said. “I just find it amazing.” Watch Cooper’s response in the clip above.
