Making History will force the Revolutionary War to happen

Fox's time-travel comedy will try to put history back on track

This Sunday on Fox’s new time-travel comedy, Making History, someone is going to do heavy scheming to kickstart the American Revolution, because someone has traveled back in time and mucked up the space-time continuum by dating Paul Revere’s daughter.

The first someone is bright history college professor Chris (Yassir Lester), and the second is the facilities manager at his college, Dan (Adam Pally), who took a duffel bag time machine to the 1770s for no educational purposes. Chris thinks the best way to draw the British and the colonists into battle is to make the colonists think the Brits are coming for the guns. “One thing has always been true about Americans: They freak out if you try to take their guns,” he sagely notes.

Deborah Revere (Leighton Meester) has decided that this cause is just, and she volunteers to ride from Boston to the outer boroughs to warn her fellow colonists — while wearing her father’s clothes so that they believe her. Check out this first-look clip from Sunday’s episode, which airs at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on Fox, to see Chris and Deborah work earnestly to get history on the right tracks, and to see Dan pretend that he’s contributing something resembling anything to this plan.
