Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Hudson have Sex and the City reunion in Paris: 'At last!'

"Love is the thing, you know!" Hudson quoted on Twitter.

Love is in the air at the 2024 Paris Olympics — including the love between friends and former costars Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Hudson.

The stars had a mini Sex and the City movie reunion while at the Summer Olympics, and Hudson shared a photo on Twitter on Monday of the two in front of the Eiffel Tower.

"Look who I ran into in Paris!!" Hudson wrote along with the hashtag SATC. "Carrie and Louise reunited at last!" She then quoted her own character's mantra with a winking emoji: "Love is the thing, you know!"

Hudson joined Parker's franchise in the 2008 Sex and the City movie as Louise, Carrie's (Parker) assistant. Louise is a romantic, and eventually helps Carrie heal her broken heart after Big (Chris Noth) fled their wedding. In the movie, Louise supports and talks a lot about the idea of love, and shows Carrie her keychain that says "love" in big gold letters. Louise ended up moving back to her hometown to marry the man she loves.

"Sex and the City has its own rhythm. It has comic timing, and that’s new to me," Hudson told Entertainment Weekly before the film came out. "Not to mention there’s all the people in the streets watching. My first day of shooting, we were in the subway with real New Yorkers — it shocked the mess out of me. They’re coming over to Jennifer Hudson and I’m Louise. I’m like, 'I want to be Jennifer right now, but I’m in the middle of a scene.'"

Hudson also revealed that she brought a handbag in "as Louise would do" when she was reading for the part with Parker. "Louise is a bag girl, she loves purses," Hudson said at the time. "Louise’s budget is a little [lower], but she tries to keep up. All her bags are high-end. She carries Chanel, everybody, you name it. She tries to steal Carrie’s shoes."

Ironically, the Starbucks location where Carrie interviewed Louise for the assistant job announced it was closing the same day Hudson tweeted about the reunion. "On the day the Astor Place Starbucks closes… everything is connected," entertainment journalist Louis Peitzman observed in a tweet.
