Plane Jane reveals Bob the Drag Queen 'was shook' when Madonna invited her on stage with them

Plane Jane is revealing Bob the Drag Queen's reaction to the season 16 queen crash-landing her gleeful RuPaul's Drag Race reign of mischief on Madonna's runway last month.

In an exclusive interview with EW's Quick Drag podcast (below), Plane explains that Bob "was shook" when Madonna brought the supervillainess on stage to help judge the "Vogue" portion of the Celebration Tour's Feb. 8 stop in Cleveland, Ohio, while the Drag Race stars were embattled in a social media feud over Bob's criticism of Plane's "Burger Finger" song.

"Madonna’s team reached out to me, I don’t think it had anything to do with Bob, which is crazy," Plane tells EW of being invited to a stop on Madonna's current tour, in which the Drag Race season 8 winner serves as a permanent supporting act. "I knew Bob was headlining that tour. I was ready to confront, to be put in the enemy’s camp, if you will. I was ready for that confrontation, and I think Bob was shook when Mother Madge, Mother Madonna, reached down, grabbed my hand, and pulled me on stage," Plane says, referencing a portion of the concert series that sees the Queen of Pop and a special guest judge preside over a mock ballroom competition set to Madonna's "Vogue."

Bob's (allegedly) gooped reaction came amid fallout from Plane's response to an unfavorable review of her season 16 talent show song, "Burger Finger," on the Sibling Rivalry podcast hosted by Bob and All Stars 4 champ Monét X Change. During a recap episode, Bob said Plane was “trying harder to be stupid than she actually is," and that she was "forcing" herself to be stupid to appeal to an offbeat Drag Race fanbase.

Plane re-posted a clip of the critique on her Instagram Story shortly after, writing, "I get that people can’t compute me being both sexy af and a clown who performed this number WELL BEFORE Drag Race, but this take is tiiiiiired." She then took the feud to X (formerly Twitter), where she posted: "Frankly it’s rude for alum RuGirls to claim 'Burger Finger' has less artistic merit than other (sh*ttier) talents… especially girls that never even had to prepare talent numbers on their original seasons. Let’s see you do better, grandma."

She tells EW that she was upset by the critique because "instead of offering up a subjective opinion on 'Burger Finger' and being like 'I didn’t find it funny, let’s move on,' Bob went on a bit of a tirade and said it had no artistic merit and was derivative of things we’ve seen before, which, in my opinion, was a complete misjudgment."

Plane reveals that she and Bob didn't discuss the incident privately prior to the Madonna show, but she was able to connect with the comedian backstage — and it went well.

"Bob actually did come backstage and said hi. Bob was totally nice, and I expressed to Bob that I’m obviously a huge fan," she said. "Bob and I talked and resolved things, and there are no genuine hard feelings. I think that’s the case with a lot of stuff on social media; we’re drag queens, we’re attention whores, and we’ve got to generate conversation at the end of the day."

A representative for Bob the Drag Queen did not immediately respond to EW's request for comment.
