Amy Winehouse would have been 34 today: 'She was an absolute genius,' says Tony Bennett

The late, great Amy Winehouse would have been 34 on Thursday, and she's being remembered for the legacy she left behind.

Music legend and Winehouse collaborator Tony Bennett tweeted out this sweet photo of him and the singer. The photo was taken presumably during the recording of their "Body and Soul" duet, which happened to be Winehouse's last studio session.

"What I love about Amy Winehouse is that, of all the singers since the Beatles, you automatically check everyone out who's a lot younger, but there's been such a big walk away from jazz," Bennett told EW after Winehouse's untimely death in 2011. "Some people think that anyone could sing jazz, but they can't. It's a gift of learning how to syncopate but it's also a spirit that you're either born with or you're not. And Amy was born with that spirit."

On July 23, 2011, Winehouse was found dead at the age of 27 as a result of "alcohol toxicity" in her London home after a very public battle with addiction.

Watch the video above for the duo's cover of "Body and Soul," which appeared on Bennett's 2011 album Duets II.
