Watch Nathan Lane sing about his 'Gay Old Life' in Dicks: The Musical — and meet his pets, the Sewer Boys

Feast your eyes on the Sewer Boys, the most menacing yet adorable movie monsters since the Gremlins.

Perk up your ears, musical fans — a new song from Dicks: The Musical has dropped, complete with a lyric video, which EW is exclusively debuting below.

Nathan Lane's character, Harris, reflects on his colorful past in "Gay Old Life," an upbeat, jazzy number from the upcoming movie musical.

The film takes several pages out of The Parent Trap's book: two long-lost twins (both adult men, played by Josh Sharp and Aaron Jackson, who also co-wrote the movie) discover they're brothers and conspire to trick their long-divorced parents into reuniting. "Gay Old Life" comes at a key moment in the film when Trevor (Jackson) learns about his father (Lane) while pretending to be Craig (Sharp).

The clip begins with Lane's character explaining, "I'm gay. Queer as a three-dollar bill and just as thin," which prompts some puzzled reactions. "I wake up, drink my coffee, have brunch around eleven / Walk my bichon-frisé, then nap till half-past seven," he begins to sing, before running through his social options for the evening — including a night at home with the Sewer Boys, the mysterious diaper-sporting creatures living in a cage in his office.

The song quickly is taken over by this bizarre non-sequitur, as Lane's character nonchalantly details the Sewer Boys' origin — he found them "taking a bath in the corpse of a swine" — and also explains that they drink blood and can read minds. At one point, he reveals that the creatures attempted to "bite off my dick," but he ultimately "stole the two creatures who'd stolen my heart" by subduing them with a club.

"The answer is perfectly clear / It's a gay old life being queer," Lane sings in the song's chorus, hilariously irrelevant from the surrounding musical anecdotes about exploring the sewers of Spain.

At the end of the song, he's seen in split-screen with his ex-wife, played by Megan Mullally, who briefly reprises her previous number "Evelyn's Song," rattling off nonsensical lines like "I bathe in bleach" and "a tornado's my friend." We also get brief glimpses of supporting characters played by Megan Thee Stallion and Bowen Yang.
