Ant-Man and The Wasp (out July 6) may feature the Marvel Cinematic Universe's two smallest superheroes, in the forms of Paul Rudd's Scott Lang and Evangeline Lilly's Hope van Dyne. But the film's just-released first trailer features a huge amount of information about the Peyton Reed-directed movie. Entertainment Weekly put the footage under the microscope!

The trailer opens with Lang and van Dyne discussing the fallout from Ant-Man's participation in the superheroes-versus-superheroes face-off detailed in Captain America: Civil War.

"I just have one question," says Lang. "When Cap needed help, if I'd asked you, would you have come?"

"I guess we'll never know," replies van Dyne. "But if you had, you'd have never been caught."

That Lang has been recaptured by the authorities is evidenced by one of the next things we see — a high-tech ankle bracelet being secured around his leg. "I do some dumb things, and the people I love the most, they pay the price," says the ex-jailbird, as we see images of his daughter Cassie (Abby Ryder Fortson) and ex-wife Maggie (Judy Greer) as well as van Dyne and her father, Michael Douglas' scientist Hank Pym.

Speaking of van Dyne and Pym, the next sequence finds the pair surrounded by the FBI and then Pym shrinking an entire building to the size of a carry-on suitcase. Good luck getting that through the X-ray machine!

Blue pill, anyone? We get our first glimpse of MCU newcomer Lawrence Fishburne. The Matrix star is playing Dr. Bill Foster. In the comics, Foster (a.k.a. Black Goliath) has the ability to increase in size.

With van Dyne at the wheel of a van, she and Lang are pursued through the streets of San Francisco by gun-toting assailants. Van Dyne shrinks their vehicle, drives it under another van, and then enlarges their ride, with car-slipping consequences. Which is still less ludicrous than pretty much everything to be seen in the last Fast & Furious movie.

Did you forget that Lang also has the ability to grow in size? The people on this boat won't in a hurry.

Now, who the Jiminy Cricket is this? Good question! The answer would seem to the villainous Ghost who, in the comics, is a superhacker with a self-designed battle suit which allows the character to make objects invisible and to walk through walls. Ghost is depicted as a male character in the comics, but is reportedly being played here by actress Hannah John-Kamen.

We're not quite sure what's going on here. We just hope it's not a close-up of a San Francisco deli salad bar.

The Wasp shows off some serious hand-to-hand combat and, while miniaturized, wings-assisted knife-jogging.

"Hold on, you gave her wings?" asks Lang.

"And blasters," Pym replies.

"So, I take it you didn’t have that tech available for me," says Lang.

"No, I did," deadpans Douglas' character.
