Fortunately for The Mummy star Annabelle Wallis, she managed to survive the former while avoiding the latter. During a recent episode of Entertainment Weekly: The Show, the English actress recalled what it was like to shoot a grueling zero-gravity stunt alongside one of the world’s biggest movie stars. “There’s only four planes in the world that you can achieve weightlessness [on], you can go into zero-G,” Wallis said. “We went to France and we went up to 20,000 feet in a plane, we turned the nose up vertically, went up to 40,000 feet, and then launched forward. And in that launch you go into weightlessness, and you have 30 seconds to shoot the scene, and we did it 64 times.” Universal Pictures She continued, “A plane like that, it’s called the ‘vomit comet’ for a reason. Because if you can imagine the worst turbulence you’ve ever felt in your life 64 times — unfortunately, some of our crew, as we were shooting the tumbling scenes, they were being sick into their little sick bags. Not the most elegant of days.” Wallis managed to keep it together, she said, “only because I didn’t want to be known as the girl who was sick on Tom Cruise.” Watch the video above for more.
