Hollywood makeup artist Allie Shehorn allegedly stabbed by ex-boyfriend multiple times

The "Babylon" and "Rebel Moon" makeup artist is currently recovering in the hospital.

Makeup artist Allie Shehorn is recovering after an alleged attack by her ex-boyfriend.

Shehorn, 35, who has worked on projects like Damien Chazelle's Babylon and Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon, was allegedly stabbed several times by her ex-boyfriend at her Los Angeles home on May 23. An LAPD spokesperson declined to identify a victim but confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the Shadow Hills neighborhood at 4:42 a.m. and found a woman with stab wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition and a suspect was arrested, authorities said.

KTLA reported that Shehorn was stabbed more than 20 times during the incident, and that she had just filed a restraining order against her ex.

Shehorn's friends Emily MacDonald and Jed Dornoff organized a GoFundMe campaign for the makeup artist's medical bills and offered detailed updates about her recovery. In the initial description, MacDonald wrote that Shehorn was "stabbed multiple times by her ex boyfriend" and was "in the hospital fighting for her life, in critical condition."

"Allie is a remarkable person, full of warmth, kindness, and love," MacDonald wrote. "No one deserves to endure such a traumatic experience, especially someone as compassionate and caring as Allie. The road to recovery will be long and arduous, but with your support, we can help ease her burden and provide the financial assistance she desperately needs."

Updates noted that Shehorn underwent her second surgery on May 25, and that her medical team was "cautiously optimistic" about her "very stable" condition that same day. Dornoff said that her breathing and feeding tubes were removed May 26, and that authorities apprehended her attacker "trying to flee the country on the Texas and Mexican [border]" on May 27. Dornoff also said that Shehorn had been moved out of the ICU on Tuesday. "She is still determined not to let this beat her and is pushing through the pain to heal," Dornoff wrote.

Dornoff stated that a woman named Christine White found Shehorn after the attack. "She is like an adopted Mom who cares a lot about Allie," Dornoff said. "She is very brave and acted fast when she found Allie bleeding out. Thank you Christine for saving her life."

MacDonald told KTLA that although Shehorn will likely need to spend a month in the hospital, she maintains a positive attitude. "She's been in really good spirits," she said. "I feel like she's comforting all of us, which is kind of how Allie is. Even when she's at rock bottom, she's still looking to see how she can lift other people up."

Shehorn's decade-long career crafting special makeup effects also includes Mean Girls, Family Switch, and Fall.
