Pedro Pascal explains why he wore an arm sling to the Golden Globes

"The Last of Us" star walked the red carpet with an unexpected accessory.

Pedro Pascal knows how to accessorize — even while injured.

The Last of Us star walked the red carpet at the 2024 Golden Globes — with his arm in a black sling. In a video captured by the Associated Press, Pascal explained to reporters that he wore the sling because he injured his arm in a fall.

“Be careful!” he added. “It can happen to anybody.”

Pascal earned his first-ever Golden Globe nomination for The Last of Us, scoring a nod for Best Performance by an Actor in a TV Drama for his role as Joel. The show is up for three Golden Globes in total, including one for best TV drama series and one for Pascal’s costar Bella Ramsey.

Pascal has had a banner year, between starring in The Last of Us and The Mandalorian and headlining Saturday Night Live. EW recently named Pascal one of our Entertainers of the Year for 2023, and original Joel actor Troy Baker wrote a tribute to Pascal’s performance, praising the actor both on screen and off.

“The thing about Pedro is that he's just so damn good in everything that he's done,” Baker explained. “And we were fortunate enough to be able to get him at such a time after Narcos, after Game of Thrones, right after The Mandalorian, and people are just loving him. No one's saying, ‘He's in too much.’ They're like, ‘We want more of him.’”
