Jerry Springer, Julian Sands, and more omitted from 2023 Emmys In Memoriam

The in-show tribute honored Matthew Perry, Norman Lear, Angela Lansbury, Paul Reubens, and others.

The late Friends alum Matthew Perry, mistress of mystery Angela Lansbury, king of sitcom Norman Lear, and dancer extraordinaire Stephen "Twitch" Boss were among those honored during the 2023 Emmys In Memoriam segment on Monday night during the live telecast from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Others, however, were not.

Jerry Springer, Julian Sands, Ray Stevenson, Tom Sizemore, Raquel Welch, Lisa Loring, Al Brown, and Charles Kimbrough — who all died this passed year — were not featured in the annual awards show segment.

Charlie Puth and The War and Treaty appeared on stage to perform a musical tribute to the celebrities we lost in 2023. The artists performed a mixture of Puth’s “See You Again” and the Rembrandts’ “I'll Be There for You."

The In Memoriam was introduced by Rob Reiner and Sally Struthers, who made special note to Lear, saying, "We were part of a very unique family, not just the bunkers, but Norman Lear's extended family."

Others featured in the In Memoriam include Ron Cephas Jones, Treat Williams, Angus Cloud, Lance Reddick, Suzanne Somers, Leslie Jordan, Jim Brown, Bob Barker, Paul Reubens, Kirstie Alley, Andre Braugher, Harry Belafonte, Alan Arkin, and Barbara Walters.
