Marvel fans scored a first look at Mantis from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in a special piece of concept art for the film released last week. Now, actress Pom Klementieff is revealing a little more information about her character.

“I’m an alien in the movie with a French accent,” Klementieff told EW at Comic-Con in San Diego on Saturday. She added a quick clarification: “An alien accent.” (Klementieff was born in Quebec City, Canada.)

Beyond the accent, the actress revealed she’ll arrive in the movie with Kurt Russell’s character, a fellow new addition to the cast roster as Star-Lord’s father. “I’ve spent my life with him, and then I meet the Guardians,” she teased.

The next Guardians of the Galaxy film, which arrives next year, will pick up shortly after the first film ended.

“There’s not a huge time gap from the last one to this one,” costar Dave Bautista, who plays Drax in the franchise, said. “Same old Drax.”

As for what it was like to step back into the roles following the runaway success of the first film in 2014, costar Karen Gillan said she didn’t feel any pressure. “It was like family getting back together again.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vo. 2, which also stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, and features the voices of Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper, arrives in theaters on May 5, 2017.
