According to videos from the concert posted to social media, the "Good Luck, Babe!" and "Hot to Go!" singer-songwriter stopped her Wednesday evening show in Raleigh to tell attendees she was having difficulty keeping up with her newfound fame. "I just want to be honest with the crowd. I just feel a little off today because I think that my career is just kind of going really fast and it's really hard to keep up. I'm just being honest that I'm just having a hard time today," the 26-year-old said at the Red Hat Ampitheater. "I'm not trying to give you a lesser show, it's just, there's a lot. Thank you for understanding. This is all I've ever wanted. It's just heavy sometimes." Chappell Roan. Entertainment Weekly has reached out to a representative for Roan for comment. In recent months, Roan's profile has exploded on the pop scene. Six years after debuting her first single in 2017, Roan released her first studio album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, last September. Though none of its singles went mainstream at the time, she dropped the standalone song "Good Luck, Babe!" this past April, and it has since steadily climbed the Billboard Hot 100 chart to a peak of No. 26. The gain in popularity for "Good Luck, Babe!" also seemed to spark two additional Rise singles to debuts on the Hot 100 this week, with album cuts "Red Wine Supernova" and "Hot to Go!" reaching No. 75 and No. 80. Roan has played to increasing crowd sizes in recent weeks, with her colorful stage persona and wild costumes (she even performed at New York City's Governors Ball while dressed as the Statue of Liberty) making headlines as well.
