After taking shots at her former boss, Donald Trump, on Wednesday's episode of the long-running talk show, the ex-White House staffer put Rep. Matt Gaetz in her sights following the controversial Florida politician's reported concerns over a social media conspiracy involving Speaker Kevin McCarthy. "Maaaaybe it's time for lawmakers to spend less time on social media or caring what people are saying about them online. Grow up & do your job," the 34-year-old tweeted Thursday, in response to a Politico reporter's dispatch from inside a closed-doors GOP meeting, where Gaetz allegedly suggested that McCarthy paid social media influencers to post negative things about him. According to CNN, McCarthy responded to Gaetz's claim by telling him that he wouldn't waste his time or money on the politician — especially as the party was meeting to align on a plan to avert an impending government shutdown. Gaetz's office did not immediately return EW's phone call requesting comment. Alyssa Farah Griffin; Matt Gaetz. "I think @NikkiHaley won this debate as well as the last one. But I must warn: based on the math it looks increasingly unlikely any candidate can overcome Trump," Griffin tweeted after the debate, following an earlier assessment that "perhaps the *only* thing that brings the GOP together is the national pastime of dunking on Vivek Ramaswamy."
