Below Deck Mediterranean season 9 cast on that premiere sailing disaster: 'I was so f---ing angry'

Below Deck Mediterranean kicked off season 9 with a drama-packed first episode, but this time the chaos didn't come from the crew or passengers.

Hours into their first charter on "My Big Fat Greek Yacht Emergency," the crew of M/Y Mustique were left without some of the most important provisions, including a bevy of wine that was very high on the guests' list.

Chief steward Aesha Scott tells Entertainment Weekly the provisions delay was a first for her.

"It's literally never happened to me before. That's why I was so shocked," Scott said, "And it's a reputable company in most places. I think it's just the Greece branch obviously wasn't very good. But yeah, never had that happen and that was easily the most stressed I've ever been in all of my work life." Adding, "We changed the provisioners after that, definitely."

Captain Sandy Yawn admits that in all her years in yachting, she's never experienced a provisioner dropping the ball like they did during that first charter. Hours into dinner service and the complete list of provisions still had not arrived.

"It's pretty shocking when you think about it," she says. "Typically that doesn't happen. Never see it. They're really good in the yachting industry. Provisioners are really on it. Maybe they had a really busy season. I don't know. But you know what I love? We managed, right? So we were given lemons and Aesha made wine."

Scott may have kept a calm exterior, but she reveals that she broke down off camera.

"When that happened, I was so f---ing angry because this season when I came in, I very unusually managed to have a really good sleep the night before. I had spent days and days and days combing over all of my lists and my orders and everything. I was so prepared, I was ready to just rock the socks off this whole experience," she says.

But then, "For reasons outside of my control, I was just so derailed and it made me so upset and I was so stressed out," Scott says. "And yeah, the provision company just, I guess lost a sheet or messed up an order. I don't know what happened, but every time I looked at my phone it was like delayed, delayed, delayed. And they don't show it. But at one point I was walking through the dining room and I got a message on my phone being like, it's delayed another four hours. And I just stood there and I just burst into tears and just cried my eyes out for 30 seconds. I was just so stressed. How do you start a charter when they don't even have everything?"

Despite appearing to be a little steamed on the show, the guests were gracious about the mixup. "It was unfair to them, who were paying so much money," Scott says.
