EW's editorial guidelines and Wesley Stenzel Updated on December 4, 2023 12:42PM EST The 2024 Grammy nominations arrived Friday morning, and the Recording Academy has responded favorably to SZA's SOS with potential awards gold. The singer-songwriter leads this year's list of nominees with nine Grammy nominations, including in the major categories Record of the Year and Song of the Year — both for her No. 1 hit "Kill Bill" — and Album of the Year for SOS. Phoebe Bridgers, Serban Ghenea, and Victoria Monét scored the second-highest tally among the 2024 nominees, landing seven nods each, followed by Jack Antonoff, Jon Batiste, Boygenius, Brandy Clark, Miley Cyrus, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift, who all tied for third with six nominations apiece. Eilish's work on the Barbie soundtrack song "What Was I Made For?" earned her recognition in the Record of the Year category, in which she'll compete with Jon Batiste's "Worship," Swift's "Anti-Hero," Rodrigo's "Vampire," Cyrus' "Flowers," Boygenius' "Not Strong Enough," Monét's "On My Mama," and SZA's aforementioned smash "Kill Bill." In a milestone moment, that category features all but one female nominee, as does Album of the Year, in which Batiste (World Music Radio), Boygenius (The Record), Cyrus (Endless Summer Vacation), Lana Del Rey (Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd), Janelle Monáe (The Age of Pleasure), Rodrigo (Guts), Swift (Midnights), and SZA (SOS) will face off. A lineup of veteran musicians and rising stars — including Jon Bon Jovi, Kim Petras, "Weird Al" Yankovic, St. Vincent, Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Arooj Aftab, Samara Joy, Muni Long, Cheryl Pawelski, and Judith Sherman — announced the latest contenders, with CBS Mornings cohosts Gayle King, Nate Burleson, and Tony Dokoupil also joining the proceedings. The winners will be revealed at the 2024 Grammy Awards on Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS and Paramount+. See the full list of 2024 Grammy nominations below.
