Tom Cruise’s The Mummy is breaking out from under wraps.

New teaser footage from the upcoming movie shows the action star navigating treacherous terrain, including an underwater tomb and barren desert landscapes as his character, Nick Morton, becomes entangled in the revival of an ancient, menacing Egyptian princess (Sofia Boutella).

“I saw her,” a visibly shaken Cruise says in the clip as images of Boutella’s menacing eyes flash onscreen. “She’s real.”

According to the film’s official synopsis, the princess’ “destiny was unjustly taken from her” before she was “awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.”

Cruise fronts an all-star cast in the action-adventure film that also includes Jake Johnson (Jurassic World), Annabelle Wallis (Peaky Blinders), Courtney B. Vance (American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson), and Oscar winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator).

The Mummy unravels June 9 in theaters. Its first trailer drops on Sunday. Watch teaser footage from the film above, and check out the film’s new one-sheet, which teases a “new world of gods and monsters,” below.
