On Thursday morning, the Swedish Academy announced that Bob Dylan was awarded a Nobel Prize in Literature for his poetic song lyrics, which have influenced generations of songwriters and have been analyzed and studied as diligently as any classic poetry over the years. It is, therefore, unsurprising that Simon & Schuster, the publishers of Dylan’s new book of lyrics, are moving up the collection’s release date, they announced Thursday. The book, which is a revised edition of a 2014 collection of the singer-songwriter’s lyrics, was previously scheduled for release on Nov. 8 and a new release date is yet to be confirmed. “We congratulate Bob Dylan on this extraordinary honor,” Simon & Schuster publisher Jonathan Karp said in a statement to The Wall Street Journal. “For decades, he has fused poetry and music with groundbreaking artistry.” In 2004 Simon & Schuster also published Dylan’s memoir, Chronicles: Volume 1, which sold more than 575,000 print copies in the U.S. alone. Some novelists and authors might be scoffing at Dylan’s success, but it spells nothing but good news for Simon & Schuster’s sales.
