Olympic gymnast and captain of Team USA in Rio, Aly Raisman, placed second in the individual all-around competition on Thursday and won the silver medal. When she returned to her room, she recieved a touching note penned by her teammates Laurie Hernandez and Madison Kocian, which she then shared on Instagram. “Aly, We couldn’t be any happier for you! All your hard work is paying off, and now you’re an Olympic AA Silver Medalist!! We’ve looked up to you from the beginning of our elite careers and you’ve inspired us in so many ways! We’re so thankful to have you cheering us on, and helping us through this Olympic journey! We love you Mama Aly. Love, Maddie and Laurie,” the girls wrote in their letter. Raisman, who came second to gold medalist and teammate Simone Biles, captioned the photo: “When you come back to find this on your bed so sweet. I have the best teammates. Gabby sent me the sweetest text. When we walked in the door, Laurie, Madison & gabby swarmed us with lots of hugs #FinalFive.” The Final Five won the team all-around gold earlier in the week and will continue to complete in individual competitions over the weekend and into next week.
