Two Disney Channel stars are dancing their way to NBC for the network’s upcoming live musical production of Hairspray, following in the footsteps of The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, and The Wiz.

Dove Cameron and Garrett Clayton have joined the cast of Hairspray Live! as Amber and Link, respectively. They join a cast that includes Harvey Fierstein as Edna Turnblad, Jennifer Hudson as Motormouth Maybelle, Ariana Grande as Penny Pingleton, Kristin Chenoweth as Velma von Tussle, Martin Short as Wilbur Turnblad, Derek Hough as Corny Collins, and newcomer Maddie Baillio as Tracy Turnblad.

In the musical, Amber von Tussle is Tracy’s primary tormentor after the latter joins the afterschool dance program The Corny Collins Show as a surprising new performer. Link Larkin, Tracy’s crush, becomes an unlikely hero in Tracy’s fight to move the show — and 1960s Baltimore — into a new civil rights frontier.

Fun fact: Cameron, the starring alum of Disney’s Liv and Maddie, once more plays the daughter of Chenoweth in a TV musical, as the two starred as Mal and Maleficent in the popular 2015 movie, Descendants. Clayton is the star of Disney Channel’s Teen Beach Movie franchise; he’s also one of the leads in the upcoming porn drama King Cobra opposite James Franco.

Hairspray Live! airs at 8 p.m. on December 7 on NBC.
