Over two seasons, Netflix’s BoJack Horseman has distinguished itself as an animated comedy that tackles depression and existential dread with the same fervor as animal puns. The new trailer suggests that season 3 will be no different in that regard.

Last season found BoJack (Will Arnett) working on a biopic of iconic horse Secretariat. Now, the movie’s a bona fide blockbuster, even earning BoJack an Oscar nomination. At first, this excites him (“If I win an Oscar, my life will finally have meaning”) but eventually he realizes that a popular movie just means more people watching and judging him. As BoJack starts to process that with the help of friends like Aaron Paul’s Todd, who appears to have a new love interest this season, he ends the trailer by stating what may very well be the show’s central thesis.

“It doesn’t matter what we did in the past, or how we’ll be remembered,” BoJack muses. “All that matters is this one spectacular moment we are sharing together.”

BoJack Horseman season 3 hits Netflix July 22. Watch the trailer below.
