The family in Wonder might have found its dad. Owen Wilson is in talks to join Julia Roberts and Room breakout Jacob Tremblay in the big-screen adaptation of Raquel J. Palacio’s novel, a source tells EW.

Wonder follows Auggie Pullman (Tremblay), a 10-year-old boy with a facial deformity who enrolls in a private school after years of homeschooling. If a deal closes, Wilson would star as Auggie’s father. “In a wonder of a debut, Palacio has written a crackling page-turner filled with characters you can’t help but root for,” EW wrote in its A- review of the book.

Wilson most recently starred in Zoolander 2, returned to the runway as Hansel. The actor has also been cast in a pair of comedies: one with Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig, and Jason Sudeikis (Masterminds), and another alongside J.K. Simmons and Ed Helms (Bastards).

The movie, directed by The Perks of Being a Wallflower helmer and scribe Stephen Chbosky, is set for an April 7, 2017 release.

Variety first reported the news.
