Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is one of the most hotly-anticipated cultural events of the year, and no one is more aware of this than J.K. Rowling. The Harry Potter author made a video before previews started asking fans to “keep the secrets,” the way they had for previous Harry Potter installments, and while she called out some outlets for posting some spoilers, most respected her wishes. On Wednesday, Rowling posted a grateful tweet, thanking fans for mostly keeping the play’s secrets so far and imploring them to continue.

Also, in case you didn’t get the joke, Rowling loves making cute Harry Potter references: When she asked fans to “keep the secrets,” she was basically asking everyone to become a Secret Keeper. In the Potterverse, a Secret Keeper is someone tasked with keeping a magical secret, like the location of Harry’s parents or the address of Order of the Phoenix headquarters. Rowling is imploring fans to not be like Wormtail, who betrayed his duty as the Potters’ Secret Keeper and led Voldemort to them. So, don’t do that. In the words of Chance the Rapper, “any Peter Pettigrew could get the pesticide.”
