CBS announced it has renewed freshman comedy Life in Pieces, the single-camera comedy about a large family whose ensemble cast includes Dianne Wiest, James Brolin, Colin Hanks, and Betsy Brandt. Life in Pieces is this season’s most-watched new comedy at 10.5 million, according to Nielsen. It also averaged a 2.7 rating among adults 18-49 and a 3.7 among adults 25-54. CBS has renewed most of its shows for next season, but several remain on the bubble, including Undercover Boss, CSI: Cyber, Supergirl, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, Limitless, The Odd Couple, Code Black, and Rush Hour. CBS will present its fall 2016 lineup to advertisers May 18 in New York.
