Donald Trump: Family Guy mocks presidential candidate as 'dumb loudmouth' in Emmy mailer

Donald Trump may have effectively locked up the Republication nomination for the upcoming presidential election, but he doesn’t appear to have Family Guy‘s vote.

A for-your-consideration mailer that was sent to Emmy voters this week features series patriarch Peter Griffin looking like the candidate — complete with the Trumpian comb-over hairdo and orange-y skin — asking: “As long as we’re voting for dumb loudmouths, can I get an Emmy?”

The animated Fox comedy is known for its outrageous Emmy campaigns: In 2009, the show went after then-veteran comedy The Office; in 2010, Peter Griffin was featured as the title character from Precious above the slogan “Vote For Us Or You’re Racist.” 2012’s plea addressed voters as “bloated, overprivileged Brentwood Jews.”

The show has never won an Outstanding Animated Program Emmy, though it has been nominated three times (2000, 2005, 2006). From 2009 through 2012, the show switched over to compete in the Outstanding Comedy Series category instead, earning a nomination in 2009, making it the first animated show to earn a nod in that category since The Flintstones did in 1961.

Family Guy hasn’t taken on Trump’s campaign in this season’s episodes, though it has joked about him previously, and creator Seth MacFarlane did host the Comedy Central Roast of Donald Trump in 2011.
