TV Article Florence Welch to debut 'The Odyssey' short film It'll be streaming online on Thursday By Eric Renner Brown Published on April 20, 2016 04:24PM EDT Florence + the Machine released their third album, How Big How Blue How Beautiful, last May. Since they, Florence Welch has released multiple music videos, created in conjunction with director Vincent Haycock, denoted as “chapters” in a film named The Odyssey. Welch announced Wednesday that she’ll debut the finished, 40-minute product — which includes a new, final chapter for the song “Third Eye” — Wednesday in London, before streaming the film via her website on Thursday starting at 2 p.m. ET. “The Odyssey, like the epic poem by Homer, is a journey,” Haycock said in a press release. “It’s Florence’s personal journey to find herself again after the emotional storm of a heartbreak. Like the layers of Dante’s purgatory, each song or chapter represents a battle that Florence traversed and physical landscape that embodied each song or story. It’s a metaphorical journey about escaping your demons, confronting yourself and returning to the original Florence, the dancer, the performer, the lover.” After The Odyssey‘s online premiere tomorrow, Welch and Haycock will participate in a live Facebook Q&A at 3 p.m. ET.
