So it’s no wonder the studio has already greenlit a second go-around for Mowgli and his jungle family. Sources confirm that Favreau is negotiating to return to his duties at the helm of the CG-spectacle along with the film’s writer Justin Marks and its producer Brigham Taylor. WANT MORE EW? Disney released an animated Jungle Book 2 back in 2003, starring the voice talent of Haley Joel Osment and John Goodman, as part of its direct-to-DVD expansion efforts. And the original Jungle Book, written by Rudyard Kipling back in the late 19th century, is a collection of 14 short stories. The Jungle Book opens Friday nationwide.
