Yes, I know the guacamole is extra. EW's editorial guidelines Published on March 24, 2016 09:02PM EDT Photo: Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless will battle for daytime domination — or at least a daytime Emmy — opposite Days of Our Lives and General Hospital, it was announced today. The Ellen DeGeneres Show will once again vie for the title of Outstanding Talk Show opposite The Real, The View, The Wendy Williams Show, and The Talk. And in an exciting first for Y&R fans, Lauralee Bell garnered her first-ever nomination in the Supporting Actress category for playing Christine Williams, despite starring on and off in daytime for a gazillion years. Too bad no one will see her tears on TV, should she earn the golden trophy: The 43rd Annual Daytime Emmys won’t be on the small screen this year. “After last year’s critically successful Daytime telecast, it is with great disappointment that The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announces that there will not be a broadcast of the 43rd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards,” said President Bob Maurot. “After months of negotiations to find show sponsorship, the NATAS Executive Board has decided that the current climate for awards shows prohibits the possibility of a telecast this year.” The awards ceremony will be held at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites in Los Angeles on May 1.
