Amaury Nolasco is headed back up the river. The actor will reprise his role as Fernando Sucre, the cellmate with a heart of gold, in Fox’s nine-episode revival of Prison Break.

Nolasco announced the news Tuesday on Instagram, posting a photo from an old episode and writing, “#Sucre is back with the gang! Buckle up! Looking forward to seeing my brothers again.”

Nolasco joins fellow returning cast members Wentworth Miller (despite his character’s apparent demise), Dominic Purcell, and Sarah Wayne Callies in the limited series, which is scheduled to start shooting next month.

Fox TV co-chair and CEO Dana Walden told reporters in January the new Prison Break “unravels on an international landscape, it’s not a domestic show.” She added, “I’m hoping we’ll see many of the great characters … return throughout the season. It has all the twists and turns you’ve come to expect from that show.”
