Amber Rose: Channing Tatum was a stripper but 'no one says sh--'

Amber Rose has spent the better part of this month commenting on a double standard she sees within Hollywood.

“Look at Channing Tatum. He was a stripper just like me. No one says sh–,” she told The Huffington Post in a new interview. “He’s at the f—ing Oscars. He’s at the Vanity Fair party. You know what I’m saying?” According to Rose, no one cares about Tatum’s past “because he’s a man.”

Rose has embraced her early career, but said she’s mocked for celebrating that time of her life. “If I make fun of myself and I call myself a slut, or talk about my stripper past and say it was the best time of my life — I was young, and beautiful making a hundred thousand dollars in cash a year. How f—ing fun was that? I had a bunch of friends, it was a party every night — I get ridiculed for that.”

The comments come on the heels of similar remarks Rose made about the differences between how she and Beyoncé are perceived in the public eye.

“If we could sing, it would be OK if we were on stage half-naked,” Rose said to The Daily Beast in reference to her defense of Kim Kardashian’s naked selfie. “We all love Beyoncé, but she’s on stage half-naked and twerking all the time, yet people say, ‘Oh, she has talent so she’s able to do that.’ We don’t have the talent that Beyoncé has, so we get criticized as former sex workers, but at the end of the day we’re just women — we’re all women — and we should all embrace each other.” Rose was criticized for her Beyoncé remarks, but explained on social media that she was talking about a “classism” that exists in society.

After Kardashian took heat online for her now-famous naked selfie, Rose stepped up to defend the reality star and first cited “classism” as a reason. In an Instagram post directed at singer Pink, who many felt took a shot at Kardashian, Rose wrote, “If a grown mother of [two] is comfortable with her body and wants to show it off that’s none of [your] business or anyone else’s. We’re so quick to down each other instead of uplifting! Pink, We’ve seen [you] damn near naked swinging from a rope (Beautifully) but what’s the difference between a rope, a pole and a pic on Instagram? Classism. Because [you] sing while [you’re] half naked does that make it ‘Classy’ or is it because [you] have a ‘talent’? I’m not dissing at all Pink just curious after [you] said ‘You’ll never have to make a silly excuse for yourself.'”
