CBS has given freshman comedy Life in Pieces a full season order, EW has learned.

Life in Pieces follows the various members of the Short family and the different life events they’re facing, including the parents John and Joan (James Brolin and Dianne Weist); the youngest son Greg (Colin Hanks) and his wife Jen’s (Zoe Lister-Jones) trials with newfound parenthood; the middle child Matt’s (Thomas Sadoski) budding romance; and the eldest daughter Heather (Betsy Brandt) and husband Tim’s (Dan Bakkedahl) fear of an empty nest.

The series debuted in September to 11.28 million viewers and a 2.6 in the 18-49 demographic. Life in Pieces is the season’s No. 1 new comedy in viewers, averaging 10.26 million.

Life in Pieces, with one of the best ensemble casts on television, is telling terrific stories in a very unique way, and we’re excited to tell many more of them this season,” CBS Entertainment President Glenn Geller said.

Life in Pieces is the second new comedy to score a full season on Tuesday after Fox picked up The Grinder. CBS also previously picked up freshman drama Limitless. As for the other new shows, ABC ordered a full back nine for Dr. Ken, while Quantico got six additional episodes, with the potential for more. Over on NBC, Blindspot got the full order.

Life in Pieces moves to its new time slot on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
