The actor and long-time racing enthusiast came in second Sunday in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race’s GTE Amateur category, driving a Porsche with his Dempsey-Proton racing team. The achievement left Dempsey in tears (and likely left McDreamy fans missing his Grey’s character even more), as he had previously raced in Le Mans in 2009, 2013, and 2014 without ending up on the podium. “It’s an amazing accomplishment,” Dempsey told Fox Sports. “You always dream about moments like this. I’ve worked really hard over the last three years to make this happen and I’m here.”
