Impersonators are a consequence of mass stardom. They come with the territory. But it’s not every day that you see a star take the stage next to his doppelganger—which Bono did at a Los Angeles U2 show Tuesday night. The singer invited a fan, decked out in full Vertigo-era, “Apple just made a U2 iPod” Bono regalia, on stage at the Forum to join the band for a rendition of their classic single “The Sweetest Thing.”

“You’re looking really good,” Bono told Joe Hier, who sings in the cover band Hollywood U2, before launching into the song. Hier filmed most of the performance on his iPhone, but also traded verses with Bono himself.
