TV Article 'Dumb and Dumber To' leads Friday box office with $14.2 million By Joshua Rivera Published on November 15, 2014 08:23PM EST Photo: Hopper Stone Surprising most critics, the poorly-reviewed Dumb and Dumber To is leading the weekend box office by a wide margin, earning an estimated $14.2 million Friday. According to Box Office Mojo, the film is well on its way to making more than $35 million this weekend. Last weekend’s top contenders, Interstellar and Big Hero 6, are trailing far behind, but still in close competition with each other—the two films earned an estimated $8,300,000 and $8,011,000 on Friday, respectively. Closing out the top five are Beyond the Lights with $2,300,000, and Gone Girl with $1,350,000. It makes a strange sort of sense that a movie about impervious stupidity would be impervious to criticism.
