EW's editorial guidelines Published on November 12, 2014 07:09PM EST The intensely dramatic teaser for Insurgent, the second installment in the Divergent franchise, features Tris (Shailene Woodley) trying to stage a daring rescue. Only who is she rescuing? Her mother, played by Ashley Judd, who—spoiler alert—died in the first film. So, in what seems to be a terrifying dreamscape, Tris (now equipped with a short haircut) as she chases after the burning building which her mother is trapped as it floats away. By the end, Tris appears to make the rescue. It’s a mostly atmospheric teaser, sure to get fans’ blood pumping. The movie, however, does not arrive in theaters until March 20, 2015. Naomi Watts and Octavia Spencer are among those joining the franchise for its second outing.
