TV Article Avicii tops Spotify's inaugural Top 25 Artists Under 25 list By Amber Ray Published on June 4, 2014 05:35PM EDT Spotify listeners really, really like Avicii. The EDM star leads Spotify’s first-ever Top 25 Artists Under 25 list, a ranking of the most influential young music-makers. The streaming service looked at No. 1 hits, volume and growth of streams and shares, and viral chart success from the last year to compile the results. Avicii easily took the top spot — the 24-year-old Swedish DJ’s track “Wake Me Up” is the most-streamed song in Spotify history. He’s also the first artist under 25 to reach one billion streams on the site. The top five is rounded out by the usual suspects: Lorde, Miley Cyrus, One Direction, and Taylor Swift. But the long list also includes newer artists like Iggy Azalea — who, at No. 10, bested Justin Bieber by one spot, thanks in large part to her Song of the Summer contender “Fancy.” That track has been sitting atop Spotify’s list of most-streamed songs for five weeks. Here, the full list and a Spotify playlist featuring each artist’s No. 1 track on the site: Spotify’s Top Artists Under 25: 1. Avicii 2. Lorde 3. Miley Cyrus 4. One Direction 5. Taylor Swift 6.
