My Star Wars friends and I have been excitedly discussing what we want to see in the next films, hoping Disney will stay true to the Star Wars universe and not ruin it for us. Your five tips for the sequels (#1234) read like one of our conversations.

You suggest banning Ewoks in the sequels? That viewpoint is way off. If not for them, the rebel force wouldn’t have been successful in destroying the second Death Star. Just because they look like teddy bears doesn’t mean they aren’t a bunch of badasses.

How on earth did EW (almost) completely ignore the release of the last Twilight film?! Where are the multiple covers with juicy pictures and candid interviews? I know a significant portion of the readership is beyond exhausted with the series, but plenty of us still care!

EW’s Jeff Giles responds: Erin, you’re hurt, and I hear that. We didn’t do a third cover on Breaking Dawn — Part 2 because we figured enough was enough. But we’re going to send you a copy of Twilight: The Complete Journey, our definitively awesome book about the entire franchise. Everyone else has to buy it in stores or online.

Twilight didn’t ”launch” the paranormal craze any more than Fifty Shades ”launched” the erotic craze — both simply benefited from existing trends. And it’s unfair to imply that better-written series like The Hunger Games wouldn’t have been successful without Twilight.

One more reason to give thanks this year: a cover story on Sons of Anarchy (#1235). Once you rev past the black leather and chain-drive wallets, you’re immersed in Machiavellian machinations that can easily go mano a mano with the Bard’s most complex plots.

Irvin Kershner directed The Empire Strikes Back (#1234). The image of Supreme Court justice Sonia Sotomayor appearing on Sesame Street came from an embedded YouTube clip that appeared on New York magazine’s Daily Intel site, not Vulture.com (The Bullseye, #1234).

Surviving Without Sherlock
