'Gangnam Style' becomes most-watched video on YouTube -- ever

We know that some of you want to use that invisible lasso to yank him off the Internet, but PSY’s popularity shows no signs of relenting. Today, the South Korean rapper’s novelty hit, “Gangnam Style,” earned the honor of becoming YouTube’s most watched video of all time, according to the YouTube Trends blog.

Beloved by everyone from Madonna to Al Roker to Thai naval officers, the clip has been viewed more than 805 million times — an average of 7 to 10 million daily views — since it first premiered in August. That puts PSY ahead of Justin Bieber’s former record holder “Baby,” which debuted in 2010 but still gets between 300,000 and 500,000 views per day. So let’s raise a glass of soju to PSY, before his ten minutes of fame tick down and he rides off into the sunset on that imaginary horse.
