Reaction to our Holiday Preview cover, praise for ''Parenthood,'' and more

French Connection
Thank you so much for recognizing the Les Misérables film on the cover. The article brought a tear to my eye the same way the Les Miz trailer makes me want to break down and cry when I see Anne Hathaway as Fantine, belting ”I Dreamed a Dream.” Cheers.

Strangers in the House
In your First Look at White House Down, Channing Tatum says the premise of the White House being taken over seemed too good to be new. And he’s right. See: season 7 of 24.

Snooze Button
Your Must List pick of The Loneliest Planet was spot-on. It was the best two hours of sleep I’ve had all week.

Team Braverman
My husband and I don’t have kids, but Parenthood is must-see TV for us every Tuesday night. Ken Tucker’s appreciation of the series and its many worthy actors captured exactly what makes the show high-quality dramatic television week in, week out.

A Film in Bloom
I’m so glad The Perks of Being a Wallflower was your ”Consider This” pick for Best Picture (”Oscar Predictions”). It’s a beautiful ode to life, love, and friendship, and Logan Lerman deserves an Oscar. It’s the best film I’ve seen this year.

Hits and Misses
I was disappointed with your Bullseye comment about Bonnie Hunt. She is one of the wittiest, most underrated actresses out there. Go watch Jerry Maguire, Return to Me, Cars, or any of her other work. Then see if you still feel good about making her your target for snark.

A double issue of movie previews can be trumped by only one thing: a triple Bullseye. Last month was my birthday, but I am more than happy to accept this belated gift.

EW, you should get coal in your stocking for leaving out the Santa from 1964’s Santa Claus Conquers the Martians in your Santa Bullseye. However, your ”Hot Santas” made up for the omission!

‘Skyfall”s Javier Bardem: Oscar Contender?
The man who took dastardliness to operatic heights in No Country for Old Men has done it again as Bond baddie Silva. EW.com readers discuss whether he’s worthy of trophy No. 2.

If Only…
Javier Bardem was incredible, and this is when I wish the Oscars had 10 nominees in the acting categories. Will he get nominated? I don’t think so. But Judi Dench should be considered too — I’d say the movie rests not in Bond’s or Silva’s hands, but in M’s. —Criteenque

Hell, No
Sorry, Bardem’s performance was definitely not Oscar-worthy. It felt like a Joker rip-off, and I don’t think Silva really stood out from other Bond villains like Goldfinger, Blofeld, Drax, Stromberg, Trevelyan…do I need to go on? —Lordbyron07

Not This Year
Bardem was wonderful, and he redeemed the rather muddled second half of Skyfall. But the Best Supporting Actor trophy will and should go to Tommy Lee Jones, who was just stunning as Thaddeus Stevens in Lincoln. —Alvin Krinst

Give Someone Else a Chance
While I thought he was very good, I’d hate to see him get a nomination at the expense of Argo‘s John Goodman or Alan Arkin, or even The Hobbit‘s Andy Serkis (who has been criminally overlooked multiple times). —Baby1023love
