EW's editorial guidelines Published on August 22, 2011 04:13PM EDT A couple of years ago, Yasmina Reza’s play God of Carnage was the hot ticket on Broadway — a corrosive, bleakly funny snapshot portrait of two married couples forced into each others’ company when their children get into a fight. Now, ever-controversial film director Roman Polanski has adapted the play into a film called Carnage, which stars three Oscar winners (Jodie Foster, Kate Winslet, and Christoph Waltz) and Oscar nominee John C. Reilly (staging a return to Academy-bait after years in the comedy world). Still, don’t let all this high-falutin’ talk confuse the issue: Carnage basically looks like the hilarious adaptation of Hockey Dad we’ve all secretly been waiting for.
