Shyamalan will preview ''The Village'' on ABC

I see ”Village” people. That’s what you’ll be saying if you watch ”The Sixth Sense” on ABC on April 26. ”Sense” filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan is jumping on the newest promotional bandwagon and showing large chunks of his upcoming chiller, ”The Village,” to primetime TV audiences. He’ll host next Monday’s broadcast of 1999’s ”Sixth Sense,” during which he’ll introduce the premiere of the trailer for ”The Village” (which opens July 30) and some behind-the-scenes footage. The following Monday, May 3, he’ll host ABC’s screening of his 2000 movie ”Unbreakable,” which will also feature 15 minutes of ”Village” promotional material, including scenes from the movie, behind-the-scenes shots, and interviews with the actors (the cast includes Adrien Brody, Sigourney Weaver, William Hurt, and Joaquin Phoenix. (All of Shyamalan’s studio movies, from ”Sixth Sense” on, have been made for ABC parent company Disney.) Good thing ABC isn’t showing Shyamalan’s ”Signs” on May 10, or the director might run out of ”Village” footage to preview.
