That’s Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp’s staggering swashbuckler from ”Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.” The movie is up for six of MTV’s coveted popcorn-tub trophies, including three nods for Depp himself. Up for four awards each are ”50 First Dates” and ”X2: X-Men United,” which will compete for Best Movie with ”Pirates,” ”Finding Nemo,” and this year’s Best Picture Academy Award Winner, ”The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.” The irreverent awards ceremony includes, as always, such MTV-exclusive categories as Best Villain, Best Kiss, Best Fight, and Best Action Sequence. There’s also a new category this year, Best Dance Sequence, which pits the primarily comic dance moves from ”Along Came Polly,” ”American Wedding,” ”Bringing Down the House,” and ”Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” against the seriously competitive street dancing of ”You Got Served.” The awards will be presented in a ceremony that will air June 10, with hosts and performers yet to be announced.
