Adele postpones Las Vegas residency because of illness, says it's 'taken a toll on my voice'

The singer said in a social media statement that doctors have instructed her to rest.

Adele is sending her love to her fans as she postpones her upcoming Las Vegas residency shows.

The singer shared in a post on her Instagram that she would be postponing her dates on March 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30 due to illness. “Sadly I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency,” she wrote. “I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break. I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I’m sick again, and unfortunately it’s all taken a toll on my voice."

“And so on Doctors orders,” she continued, “I have no choice but to rest thoroughly. The remaining 5 weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date. We are already working out the details and you will be sent the information asap.”

Adele captioned the post on Tuesday with an apology to fans, writing, "I love you, I'll miss you like mad and I'm sorry for the inconvenience x."

It's unclear when the postponed dates will be rescheduled, but currently Adele is slated to have more shows in her Weekends With Adele residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace starting May 17.

Adele officially began her residency in Sin City on Nov. 18, 2022, after previously abruptly postponing just one day before its original run that January. It has since been expanded with dates well into June 2024.
