The Awardist Oscars Everyone who's performing at the 2024 Oscars: Ryan Gosling, Billie Eilish, Jon Batiste, more See the performers set to hit the stage at the 96th annual Academy Awards on March 10. By Dustin Nelson Published on March 1, 2024 04:32PM EST It's almost time for the biggest awards show in film: the Oscars. Jimmy Kimmel is set host for a third time when the 96th annual Academy Awards arrive on Sunday, March 10. Of course, it's not all opening monologues, acceptance speeches, and awkward cutaways. There will also be performances from artists who have been nominated for Best Original Song. This year's list of performers includes notable pop stars, songs by legendary songwriters, and one actor taking a song that earned viral fame from the screen to the stage. Here is everyone slated to perform at the 2024 Oscars. Ryan Gosling in 'Barbie'. Warner Bros. Pictures Ryan Gosling and Mark Ronson Ryan Gosling won't be a number two. There was a lot of discussion around whether or not the Ken actor would be invited to perform his viral hit from Barbie. Well, it's happening. Gosling will sing "I'm Just Ken" along with Mark Ronson, who wrote the song with Miike Snow's Andrew Wyatt. Neither Gosling nor Ronson have performed at the Oscars previously. However, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper sang "Shallow" from A Star Is Born at the 2019 ceremony. That song earned Ronson and Wyatt each their first Oscar, which they shared with Gaga and Anthony Rossomando. Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell. Christopher Polk/Getty Images Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell Billie Eilish and Finneas O'Connell will also perform a song from Barbie. The sibling duo will sing “What Was I Made For?" That track has already earned them a pair of Grammys and a Golden Globe, among many other awards season nominations and wins. This will be the second time Eilish and O'Connell take the stage at the Oscars. They also appeared at the 2022 ceremony, where they performed "No Time to Die" from the most recent James Bond film, No Time to Die. That song earned them their first Oscars. Scott George with 'Killers of the Flower Moon' star Lily Gladstone. Rebecca Sapp/Getty Images Scott George and the Osage Singers Scott George and the Osage Singers will perform "Wahzhazhe (A Song for My People)," from Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon, a film that depicts the horrific Osage murders. This will be George's first Academy Awards performance, and it's also his first nomination. George is the first writer of Osage descent to earn the honor. The lyrics, sung in Osage, are simple, he told Variety. “‘I’m asking my people to stand up.’ The next phrase translates as ‘God made it for us,’" George said. "The expression I’m trying to say is ‘Stand up, be tall, and be proud. We’re still here after all of that.” Jon Batiste. Kevin Winter/Getty Images Jon Batiste Jon Batiste is a man of many talents. He's a Grammy-winning performer, served as a bandleader on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, and has composed for many films. He's going to hit the stage to sing “It Never Went Away” from American Symphony, a song he co-wrote with Semisonic frontman and prolific songwriter Dan Wilson. Batiste has not performed at the Oscars previously, but he does already have a win under his belt. He scored a statuette for Best Original Score for the Pixar film, Soul. He shared that win with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. This is Wilson's first nomination. Becky G. Michael Loccisano/Getty Images Becky G Singer and actress Becky G will take the stage to sing "The Fire Inside" from Eva Longoria's directorial debut, Flamin' Hot, which tells the story of Richard Montañez and the (alleged) creation of Flamin' Hot Cheetos. She will be the only performer who isn't also a nominee, even though she sings the song. The film's Best Original Song nomination goes to Diane Warren, who wrote "The Fire Inside". This is Warren's 15th nomination, all of which are for Best Original Song. Those accolades have been for films that include Con Air, Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, Marshall, RBG, and Music of the Heart. Despite the huge number of nominations, none of Warren's compositions have earned her a statuette. She did, however, get an honorary Oscar in 2023 "for her genius, generosity, and passionate commitment to the power of song in film."
