About

I want to be a specialist in humanitarian programs and conduct my PhD on international humanitarian law, humanitarian aid, and human rights issues globally.
I have a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Sociology (2011) and a Masters of Arts in International Cooperation & Humanitarian Aid (ICHA) (2018) and have 23 years of professional work experience in four INGOs (SCI, IMC, WVI, & PI), three LNGOs (HAPCO, PADet, & Pro Pride), and different governmental sectors. From my past professional work experiences, almost 9 years have been spent on emergency response projects in refugee and IDP contexts in protection intervention projects such as child protection and GBV. I have both development and humanitarian exposures in my career. I have more experience with emergency response projects on South Sudanese refugees in Gambela, Somali refugees in Dollo Ado in Somalia, the Gedeo/West Guji conflict (IDPs) emergency response project in SNNPRS, and North Gonder IDPs in Amhara Region and development programs. Overall, since 2001 to date, I have over 23 years of professional work experience, both in development and humanitarian contexts, in government and NGOs.
In various organizations, I have worked on various positions in different sectors of intervention, such as Child Protection in Emergency Coordinator, Child Protection in Emergency Officer, Senior GBV Prevention Officer, Project Coordinator (HAPCO), MERL Officer, Peace Building Officer, OIC, and Field Associate. I have gained experience, technical skills, and professional knowledge from each position title since my employment up until now. I have served as Child Protection Emergency Coordinator and Officer on the South Sudan refugee emergency response program in Gambela's different refugee camps (2015–2018) for 3 years and 6 months. And as Child Protection in Emergency Coordinator (March 2021–N November 13,2022) & Debark Sub-Office Manager at Plan International in North Gonder Zone on Child Protection in Emergency Projects at Debark and Dabat IDPs.
Currently, I am working in the UNHCR Dessie Field Office, Ethiopia, as a Field Associate (CCCM) from November 14, 2022, to date in the North & South Wollo Zones at 11 IDP sites in Wollo.
