Cómo Usar El Verbo Modal Could
El verbo modal can se usa para hablar de habilidades. Could se usa para hablar
de habilidad en el pasado. Se usan también los dos verbos para pedir cosas o
para pedir que alguien haga algo.
Como otros verbos modales, se hace la negación con la palabra not o la forma
corta -n’t. La pregunta se hace poniendo el modal verb al principio, sin nada más:
I can run fast.
I can’t run fast.
Can you run fast?
Yes, I can.
No, I can’t.
Igual que los otros verbos modales, can no tiene otras formas según la persona.
Así es muy sencillo: I can, you can, he can, she can, etc.
Y could es igual…
I could speak Italian when I was a child.
I couldn’t speak Italian when I was a child.
Could you speak Italian when you were a child?
Yes, I could.
No, I couldn’t.
