El Artculo 13 del Convenio Marco para el
Control del Tabaco exige la prohibicin absoluta
de todas las formas de publicidad, promocin y
patrocinio, incluida la RSC. Se debe prohibir la
RSC que lleva a cabo la industria tabacalera.
La RSC funciona a favor de la industria
tabacalera ya que genera buena predisposicin
entre los formuladores de polticas y el pblico,
contrarresta la atencin negativa relativa a sus
productos letales y distiende la oposicin de
los defensores de control del tabaco.
Los daos devastadores que las muertes y las
enfermedades como consecuencia del tabaco
producen para las sociedades y las familias
superan ampliamente los beneficios generales
de la filantropa o el patrocinio de las causas
sociales.
