Abstract—Immortalized mouse Keratinocyte cells were used to study the effect of external
bioenergy (EBE) in intracellular calcium concentration. Cells were loaded with 5 µM
calcium indicator Fura 2-AM to monitor changes in intracellular calcium concentration.
Calcium is an important second messenger involved in numerous cells signaling processes
therefore, intracellular calcium mobilization with implementation of EBE may be a good
starting point for experimental strategies and provide explanation for previously reported
results. Cell population was separated into two groups: a control group where cells received
no EBE stimulation and other experimental group where EBE was applied. It was observed
that the depletion of intracellular stores by the action of TG is lower in cells that have been
exposed to EBE in comparison to control cells. One possible explanation for this observed
result is that stores of intracellular calcium had been stimulated by EBE and hence the
resulting drain is lower. These results allow us to infer that EBE has an action on
intracellular calcium storage but does not allow us to clarify how calcium has been
stimulated.
