Last month, our Madrid office welcomed 358 colleagues from all over Europe, as well as from Africa, the Americas, and the Asia-Pacific region, for our annual European Sales & Marketing Meeting.  “Given our day-to-day efforts are often focused on the local needs of various countries and regions, the Sales & Marketing Meeting is an ideal opportunity for teams to come together, share insights and help chart future growth”, said Jose Cabral, Ria’s Senior Vice President and Managing Director for Europe & The Middle East. “Importantly, the three-day event also gives our employees the chance to build new working relationships, strengthening our inter-departmental ties.” Highlights from the meeting included a series of dramatic short film adaptations that depicted some of the challenges our sales teams face, a fresh social media approach, and a Eurovision-style vote on future network enhancements.   A special thanks to our presenters, the event organizers and all those who traveled to Madrid and contributed toward the success of our 2024 European Sales & Marketing Meeting.  #riamoneytransfer #sales #leadership #teambuilding #globalworkplace

Hurricane Otis made devastating landfall in the Mexican state of Guerrero last year. In response, Ria and Save the Children International designed an emergency campaign to raise funds, one that turned out to be outstanding: a record amount of donations were collected. With these relief funds, Save the Children put in place a plan to help the over one million affected people. They quickly moved to meet the most urgent needs of children, families and communities through safe spaces, essential resources and continued education. They later went on to focus their efforts on specific actions spread across education, protection and water access. These included installing learning spaces to get 1,400 kids back to school, setting up mobile units to provide psychological support to children and implementing over 30 campaigns focused on proper water consumption, a problem exacerbated by the effects of the hurricane. Thanks to the hugely successful campaign, Ria and Save the Children have managed to take effective action, which is set to continue throughout November. #csr #savethechildren #riamoneytransfer #guerrero

Last month, our Bandera store in Santiago de Chile surpassed a significant milestone: it’s tenth anniversary. To mark the occasion, the team ordered a custom-made Ria Money Transfer cake and jovially decorated the store’s interior with balloons and an all-important “Feliz Aniversario” sign. Later, as a fitting gesture, staff invited Porfirio Pisfil Aguirre, a loyal customer who was there when the store first opened its doors a decade ago, to join them. For Porfirio, Ria is the tool that enables him to support his family back home in Perú, including his daughter, who is currently studying hard to build a brighter future for herself. Upon his arrival, Porfirio burst into a heartfelt speech in which he thanked the entire team for their first-class service during the last ten years.
